In February of 2019, Marv’s Founder Brian Davis had experienced a life changing event and asked if I would be interested in purchasing the shop. I had just quit my full time job a day earlier and Vinyl Cup had been opened just 6 months. After a long conversation with my wife, Daphne, my team, Nate from zzz and others I made the decision and took ownership on March 1, 2019. Our main focus was to bring to the community a focus on new vinyl that you couldn’t find elsewhere at the time.
In May of 2025, we moved Vinyl Cup to a new location in the former Back Country. This move has been incredible for our community and our business. However, we feel we can no longer offer the community what we could in 2019 until now at Marv’s.
We have made the incredibly difficult decision to move Marv’s inventory, operation and team to Vinyl Cup in Beaverdale. Our Marv’s team will focus solely on the new vinyl part of the business offering you that same unique new vinyl selection.
We will participate in our Final Record Store Day at Marv’s on April 18th with our final day of operation being Sunday, April 19th. We are beyond excited to turn our keys over to an amazing business that has blown me away with their drive and community driven focus, DSM Flea. When I reached out to them about this potential opportunity they ran with it and it has been great working with them through this difficult decision. Stay tuned to their socials for details.
